this non-build-to-ANY-code stairs I’m working on remind me of the EC project I was doing…..LOL. Time to put in the glass railings for *life safety*

wht did u use 2 render ur Jewel on Gerrard project?I’d like to say something fancy like Rhino or Revit, but I actually constructed the model in Google Sketchup, then used Vray to add softer edges. The rest of the landscape/people/colour/material etc. were touched up in Adobe Photoshop. =)

Working on Revit
I’ve been gaining a lot of experience in using Revit over the summer. I switched back to AutoCAD recently for school assignments, and the commands started to feel counter-intuitive. Let’s hope I get to use Revit, finally, in my studio assignments. It will definitely cut down my production time - and more focus can be given to the graphic presentation part (my fav.)

The Last Stretch
Studio deadline coming up on Tuesday and I’m really nervous about this project. I’m liking my concept, and I’m in the middle of doing a 3D model of my building. I’m more nervous about my physical model. For all my projects thus far, I’ve used matte board for its clean edges and range of colours. However, this time, I am attempting to do a wooden model. What I found in working with wood is that it gives such crisp corners (as opposed to board-on-board glued corners) and the soft, warm colour is growing on me. The cutting/sanding shouldn’t take me as long as I would if I were working with board (I have my fingers crossed). Going to work in the shop Monday, and hopefully things will start to come together. The most important part of my project is the final booklet submission, so that’s my top priority right now! I got my playlist pumpin’, comfy pjs and a bowl of cheerios - I’ll post progress work if I have time, if not, look out for a post on the final submission :D
Caffeine-fueled all-nighters, here I come </3
